In recent years, there has been rapid growth in the demand for human services in the workplace. Occupational social workers provide services for employees and employers, including but not limited to Employee Assistance, work/life and other workplace consultation. Occupational social workers partner with diverse work organizations to develop and implement policies, consult with managers, and assess organizational functioning. Occupational and EAP social workers fill a critical gap in the workplace, supporting the employer’s most valuable asset, their employees. Workshop participants will receive an overview of how important the social work role is in this field and the many intricate ways social workers can support employers and employees.
